Minera Antucoya, Chile

Minera Antucoya from Antofagasta Minerals Group requested ABCDust to monitor in real time the PM10 and PM2.5 emissions inside the secondary and tertiary crushing plant.

The crusher plant generates more than half of Minera Antucoya’s emissions in a concentrated and visible way.For this reason, the company has an investment plan to reduce its emissions by 90%.  To do so, they require capacities to monitor levels of extreme particulate matter. Minera Antucoya contacted us at the end of 2018 to respond to this challenge monitoring its extreme emssiones levels during 2019 and 2020, an helping our client to improve their emissions.

ABCDust’s R&D and Engineering team developed the solution for extreme monitoring of PM10 and PM2.5 emissions, monitoring equipment RedBoxes™ and BlueBoxes™, compatible with the PM integral management platform DMS-ONE™. Our equipment and methodology allowed us to reliably raise the baseline of the Crushing facility’s emissions, evaluate the improvements made and their maintenance over time.

Minera Antucoya was able to optimize its strategy of improvements and maintenance of the crushing plant, achieving PM improvements of 50 to 60% in the short term, and to effectively direct its strategy towards a 90% reduction of the crushing plant emissions.

ABCDust appreciates the confidence of Minera Antucoya’s Environment and Dry Area team for the development of the baseline and the subsequent measurements and evaluations.  Below, some pictures of the experience and work done. For further information, please contact us at info@abcdust.net
